Prayers at High Altar
The Priest says prayers at the High Altar. These would begin with a confession of sins, then collects (set prayers) and then the scripture readings set for the day. He would face East, away from the congregation and towards the altar. The prayers would be in Latin, and not necessarily audible to the congregation.
